Gabrielle Whelan


Gabrielle Whelan is a writer, comedic performer, and producer based in Los Angeles. She has worked behind and in front of the camera on features films, web series, and commercials, and most recently, she co-created and produced a 30-minute sitcom and a sketch comedy series for network consideration. She also performs standup regularly throughout LA, and has performed as a improviser with Groundlings and The Upright Citizen’s Brigade. She has written a comedic memoir, and has served as a contributing writer to magazines and literary journals. In addition to working in the entertainment industry, Gabrielle has worn many hats since moving to LA, including serving as a professor of business writing at Angeles College, a humanities teacher for Heritage Academy in Ghana, Africa, and as a private tutor for students in Beverly Hills.

Prior to relocating West, she worked in the marketing and editorial divisions of law firms and publishing houses in London and Philadelphia, and served as a financial journalist in New York. Academically, she earned a dual B.A. in English and French from Tulane University, and attended the Sorbonne University in Paris, France as part of Tulane’s Junior Year Abroad Honors Program. She then went on to earn her M.A. in Comparative Literature from King’s College London.

About the Author

Daniel is a Co-Founder and Award-winning Producer at Elder Productions. Daniel graduated from U of Illinois on full scholarship with a major in Art and Communication. Dan has served as associate producer on more than 60 episodes of Mexico: One Plate at a Time with Rick Bayless, and has produced television, documentaries, commercials, music videos and the feature film, “Boxboarders!” Daniel recently Executive Produced a new series, “Oh You Pretty Thing” starring Francesca Eastwood for the Walt Disney company Maker Studio. Daniel produced the documentary “Your Own is Your Own,” that was an official selection at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival, the Indian International Film Festival, and others. Daniel currently is producing and directing “Gabby,” a new comedy series he created.
